Reading: Literacy Stations

This week we have been focusing on reading, writing, and finding sight words. Here are a few photos of the kids while they were working hard to find sight words.

I love how the kids chose to write sentences using sight words. They are working on starting with a capital letter, spaced between words, and ending punctuation. I think they did a great job!

Roll & Read: Students roll dice and read the row of words that match with the corresponding number. This is an easy game to make at home using letters, numbers, sight words, regular CVC words, sentences, etc. The list goes on and on.

Sight Word color search. Students used markers to color sight words. We rarely use markers right now, so this was a BIG deal and a favorite for most of the kids.

Literacy Games on the iPad. There are so many educational games on iPads and tablets. The kids have a lot to choose from. They are engaged and learning at the same time while using technology.
