Reading: Creating Fairy Tale Characters

During Reading we talked about the characteristics of fairy tales and how there are usually two types of characters: good and evil. As an extension, I had different types of activities that my class could choose from in order to make fairy tale characters. Some chose to make puppet shows, posters, venn diagrams, etc. I also had play dough available for them to use so that they could build characters and have them create a small reenactment. Here are some of the make-believe creature that were created.

 A snowman and a ninja.

 A knight and a princess.

 Some snakes and creatures.

A drill.

The class was so creative and had great story plots. It was so much fun to hear them in their pretend play while using their new vocabulary.
